Arkansas is out, Texas A&M is in. Traditionally LSU has played Arkansas on the Friday after Thanksgiving, but “The Battle for the Golden Boot” has given way in 2014 for what has the potential to be an elite college football rivalry.
This year the Aggies and Tigers will square off on Thanksgiving night at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. It will go heads-up against NBC’s coverage of the Seahawks-49ers game, which kicks off at 8:30. With an earlier start time and potentially close contest, ESPN is likely hoping to steal viewers away from the opening half of the NFL’s featured matchup.

As for the Razorbacks, they will replace their annual Thanksgiving weekend rivalry with another set of Tigers in Mizzou.
LSU and Arkansas will still play annually, only the game will take place a little earlier in the season. The two teams will square off on Nov. 15 in 2014.
