Tony Barnhart Unveils 2014 Preseason Top 10 Rankings

With the 2014 season less than a month away, Mr. College Football Tony Barnhart revealed his preseason rankings on “The Paul Finebaum Show.”

Like most analysts, Barnhart tabs Florida State and Alabama as the top two teams heading into the season. Oklahoma, who knocked off the Tide in last year’s Sugar Bowl, is slotted at No. 3, and Oregon rounds out the top four.

One surprise from Barnhart is his placement of Georgia in the top 10. The Bulldogs have the talent to compete for an SEC Championship, but could also experience a setback without the leadership of former quarterback Aaron Murray, who is now suiting up for the Kansas City Chiefs. Though UGA does return arguably the best player in the country in running back Todd Gurley.

Barnhart ranks three SEC teams in the top 10, two from the Big 12, Pac-12 and Big Ten, and one from the ACC.

  1. Florida State Seminoles
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide
  3. Oklahoma Sooners
  4. Oregon Ducks
  5. Auburn Tigers
  6. Michigan State Spartans
  7. Ohio State Buckeyes
  8. Baylor Bears
  9. UCLA Bruins
  10. Georgia Bulldogs
