LSU head coach Les Miles was fired on Sunday following the team’s 18-13 loss to Auburn on Saturday.
Miles had been on the hot seat since last season, when his team couldn’t get it together and get enough wins in the SEC.
Despite what could be considered failures in recent season, Miles was considered a great coach who posted a lot of wins and even helped LSU win a national championship.
SEC colleague and Alabama head coach Nick Saban addressed the news of Miles’ firing. Saban seemed dumbfounded that the school would decided to dismiss the successful coach in the middle of the season.
It’s true what Saban says. This is what college football is now: a coup in the coaching department when failure arises.
The Tigers have promoted defensive coordinator Ed Orgeron as its interim head coach.
