Being up by 28 points doesn’t mean much to Alabama head coach Nick Saban. The championship coach demands perfection every down of every drive or you’ll hear his wrath.
Needless to say, his assistant coaches have taken the brunt of a lot of Saban’s anger. Most recently, offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin was lit on fire by the words of Nick Saban during No. 1 Alabama’s 38-10 win over Western Kentucky Saturday.
Despite having a 28-point lead with less than a minute left in the game, Saban still got upset with Kiffin yelling at him as the offensive leader just took it all in silence.
Take a look at the intense moment:
Of course, the media immediately addressed this moment during the post-game conference. When asked what the “argument” was about, Saban let everyone know it was much more than that.
“There are no arguments,” he said. “Those are called ass-chewings.”

However, Saban did let on what the “chewing” was all about.
Even though the Crimson Tide got an easy win on Saturday, Saban expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance.
“We have lots of work to do,” Saban said. “We’re going to play a lot better teams. I didn’t think we practiced very well this week. I didn’t think we prepared very well for this game. I don’t think we respected the team we played. Like I said before, when you’re arrogant, it makes you complacent. It creates a blatant disregard for doing things right. If we don’t start doing things right, we’re not going to have the kind of success that we’re capable of.”
Kiffin just recently took a raise and contract extension at Alabama. He will be earning $1.4 million for this season. Do you think that’s enough money to endure some Nick Saban chewings?
