One day after the Internet reveled in comparing a scary USMNT collision to the Florida Gators of 2013, the NCAA decided it would reference UF’s loss to Georgia Southern as a defense in the O’Bannon trial. The remarks came from Mark Lewis, the NCAA’s executive vice president for championships and alliances (and a former UGA long snapper), as he discussed competitive balance between schools.

And while the testimony was all business, Lewis did his Georgia roots proud by taking a parting shot at the Gators before changing topics.

Rivalries run deep. Especially when under oath.
