The Florida Gators recently added California quarterback recruit Sheriron Jones to their commitment list for 2015. The 6-foot-3, 184-pound dual-threat QB out of Rancho Verde High School is currently partaking in the 2014 Elite 11 with 18 other recruits, where he is showing off why new UF offensive coordinator Kurt Roper is so high on his talents.
The following according to Gerry Hamilton of ESPN Insider:
Sheriron Jones might be the No. 8 ranked quarterback in California in a loaded 2015 class, but clear across the country, he appears to be viewed as one of the nation’s best. Florida ventured all the way out to pull the 6-foot-3, 184-pound signal-caller away from the region. Another SEC program viewed him as the top quarterback along the entire West Coast. Jones showed glimpses as to why during Sunday’s morning session, looking sharp on a number of throws. Jones received praise from [Trent] Dilfer for his timing and accuracy on pair of out routes.
While ESPN has Jones slotted as the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback, 247 Sports sees him slightly higher at No. 5 in the nation.
Following is a highlight video to give Florida fans a taste of what to expect once Jones lands in Gainesville.
