The Florida Gators gave fans a scare during Thursday’s camp when star cornerback Vernon Hargreaves emerged from a scuffle injured. Hargreaves did not return to practice after appearing to hurt his left leg.
Head coach Will Muschamp calmed the nerves of Gator Nation later Thursday night when he revealed that the sophomore had suffered a bone bruise, and is listed as day to day.

Hargreaves is the anchor of Florida’s secondary, and its only returning starter. As a freshman, he ranked second in the SEC in passes defended (1.17 per game), made 38 tackles, recorded three interceptions, and had 11 pass breakups. The Associated Press, Athlon Sports and Sporting News all named him a First Team All-SEC selection.
