On October 6, 2012, the Florida State Seminoles were stunned when they gave up a 16-0 lead and lost on the road at N.C. State. That game was the last time the Seminoles lost against a team from the ACC.
With a victory Saturday on the road at Georgia Tech, the Seminoles will find themselves tying the conference record for most consecutive wins. A victory over the Yellow Jackets would give FSU their 29th straight conference win, tying the record set by … the Florida State Seminoles from 1992-1995.
That team won the first 29 conference games the ‘Noles ever played in the ACC, losing their first game in a Thursday night controversial finish on the road at Virginia on November 2, 1995.
FSU also holds the third longest win streak in conference history as well, winning 24 straight games from 1998 until 2001. In the over 60 years of football in the ACC, FSU is the only school that has been able to win over 20 consecutive conference games. If the ‘Noles are victorious this weekend, they will get a chance to break the record at home on Halloween when they host Syracuse.
