According to the ESPN Football Power Index, FSU has the best opportunity of any team in college football of going undefeated for the 2014 season. ESPN gives the Noles a 40% chance to make it through the year unscathed. Following FSU is Oregon at 13%, the juggernaut Thundering Herd of Marshall at 9%, and Ohio State at 8%.

A look at FSU’s schedule shows that the Noles only play two teams ranked in the Coaches Poll (No. 16 Clemson and No. 17 Notre Dame), and both games are at home. Other potential pratfalls include the season opener against Oklahoma State (played in Arlington, TX), a Thursday night game on the road against Louisville, and rivalry games against Miami (away) and Florida (home).
