Report: Notre Dame Dismisses Four Players For Academic Fraud

Friday brought about some heavy news for Notre Dame. Early in the morning rumors began to circulate about possible cheating, and later in the day an NCAA investigation regarding academic fraud had been confirmed.

The Fighitng Irish dismissed four players from the team, all starters, according to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports.

This time, four starters have been dismissed from ND after the school conducted an internal investigation this summer, sources close to the program told FOX Sports.

The players involved are receiver DaVaris Daniels, defensive back KeiVarae Russell, defensive lineman Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore.

Notre Dame lost quarterback Everett Golson for academic reasons last season, but the university allowed him to re-enroll and work his way back on the team. Whether or not that’s the case with these players is still unknown.

Pat Forde of Yahoo! Sports also reports that the investigating is still ongoing, and there is the potential for more punishment to be handed down (i.e. vacated wins).
