Everyone has at least one physical trait that distinguishes him or her from everyone else.
For C.J. Beathard, everyone knew him as the Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback that looked like Sunshine from Remember The Titans. Beathard’s identity to the public was his long, wavy golden locks of hair.
Even when Beathard won the starting quarterback job for 2015 — pretty much forcing Jake Rudock, his competition, to transfer to Michigan — Beathard’s hair was who he was.
But while he’s been cutting up during the offseason to prepare for the start of the 2015-16 season, Beathard also chose to cut off his hair and donate it to Wigs for Kids.
Beathard may not win a Heisman Trophy or lead the Hawkeyes to a College Football Playoff title, but few things are as respectable as what he chose to do with the golden locks it took him three years to grow.
