It’s one of the emotional parts of a college football program. When a coach decides to award a walk-on player a scholarship to help pay for school, the room gets a little emotional with grown men crying and celebrating their friend’s accomplishment like the team had just won a championship.
Our latest example comes from the Houston Cougars. During a team meeting, head coach Tom Herman made the players believe that they were in trouble for their performance so far. He then singled out two walk-on players for their work in fall practice, brining them up to the front of the room with their coaches. From there, it was nothing but good things ahead:
Once again, an emotional moment is put on display. Now, the players will have to work hard to prove that they deserved this honor. Hopefully, these two players will not let their coaches down.
