Pitt Football Post ACC Championship Ring, Trophy Photos On Locker Room Wall

In 2013, the Pitt Panthers left what was then called the Big East Conference for a new home and new life in the ACC. The program that produced such greats as Dan Marino, Tony Dorsett and Hugh Green expected big things in their new league. Their welcoming to conference play in football was a rude one, as they were blown out at home on Labor Day night 2013 by eventual Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles, who would go on to win the national championship.

Since then, the Panthers have gone on to a record of 13-13 in the past two seasons, including a 7-9 record in league games. But that hasn’t made the team feel anything less than positive about their chances this season, as you can tell by a fresh photo placed inside their locker room:

Far be it from me to discourage confidence, but if you can’t beat Akron and Navy in non-conference games over the last two years, what makes you think you are going to win the ACC with a league schedule that includes Notre Dame, Miami, Georgia Tech and Louisville?
