Dabo Swinney’s Clemson squad had been enjoying a fantastic ride to No. 3 in the national polls following a 6-0 start to the season.
His Tigers, however, proceeded to “Clemson” all over themselves in front of ESPN’s College GameDay crew in Week 8. Quarterback Jameis Winston and ACC foe Florida State absolutely shredded the Tigers in a 51-14 blowout that pretty much no one expected – save for those in Garnet and Gold.
After the fact, perhaps the last thing one might have expected was to hear Swinney saying anything that might positively compare his team to the Seminoles.
However, he continued “Clemsoning” during his weekly press conference.
Dabo->FSU “They’re not THAT much better than us, and we’re not THAT bad of a football team. But they might be the best team in the country.”

This type of quote is like giving yourself your own nickname: When you have to do it, that’s when you know you don’t deserve it.
*UPDATE* Dabo doesn’t only think that FSU isn’t that much better, but he also thinks the Tigers and ‘Noles would split 10 contests.
Dabo says after watching tape: “If we played FSU 10 times, they probably win five and we’d win five.”
