Dismissed forward Damontre Harris is not out of the game just yet. According to a report from The Associated Press, Harris has enrolled at the University of Florida this semester. He is attempting to work his back in the good graces of Coach Billy Donovan, who is giving the big man another shot.
After being kicked off the team, a light must have turned on in Harris’ head. Donovan said that Harris “feels like he has made a huge mistake and feels that Florida basketball is all he’s got, and he needs our help. … It would be a great story in his life if we can try and find a way to help him.”
If Harris is able to make his way back on the team, he will provide some much needed depth down low for the Gators next season. Florida will lose forward Will Yeguete and center Patric Young to graduation following this season.
