Former Hurricane Dan Sileo puts bounty on FSU’s Devonta Freeman, deletes tweets

Former Miami defensive lineman Dan Sileo took to Twitter to put a bounty on Florida State running back Devonta Freeman (pictured above).

Following Florida State’s 41-14 blowout win over rival Miami, we learned two things. The first, of course, is that the Seminoles are legitimate national title contenders. The second is never to tweet things you are going to immediately regret.

The latter seems self-evident, but we continue to see people make this same mistake. On Saturday, it was Sileo. Unhappy with a gesture out of Freeman, he offered a whopping $1,000 to any Canes player who would “take this kid out.” He also mentions “6 weeks.” Sileo is referring to a possible rematch between the Hurricanes and Seminoles in the ACC title game.

The tweets were quickly deleted. However, as we have learned, such controversial messages never – ever – die. TomahawkNation saved the tweets and posted them to Facebook.

Sileo was recently fired as a radio host at WQAM, and is now working at 640AM. Interestingly, he announces the bounty on Freeman, but actually uses a picture of Timmy Jernigan, who also wears No. 8 for FSU. He’s not the brightest guy in the world.
