Texas A&M freshman linebacker Darian Claiborne was arrested Sunday on drug charges, according to Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle.
Claiborne, who has been charged with possession of a dangerous drug and less than two ounces of marijuana, was suspended by Texas A&M following the arrest. He will not participate in the Chick-fil-A Bowl against Duke. Whether or not the suspension carries into next season remains to be seen.
As a freshman, Claiborne registered 89 tackles, led the team with seven tackles for loss, and earned SEC all-freshman honors.
