Plenty of Ole Miss supporters and fans are taking to Twitter to express their excitement over playing Alabama on Saturday, but one person’s tweet is set to make headlines.
The Ole Miss Rebels have looked fantastic in running their 2013 record to 3-0. The program has already beaten Vanderbilt and Texas. However, something has been missing – something that may not be so large in stature but massive in heart.
That something has been Denzel Nkemdiche. The 5-foot-11, 207-pounder led the team with 82 total tackles as a redshirt freshman middle linebacker a year ago. He injured his knee in the season opener against Vanderbilt and has not seen the field since.
He has been cleared to play against the defending national champions, however. Ole Miss kicks off against the mighty Tide at 6:30 Eastern, but at roughly 9:30 in the morning, Nkemdiche was already chomping at the bit to get out there.
He wants it – not next year, but right now. Today is his day.
