Derrick Coleman responds to deaf fan’s letter

Seattle Seahawks running back Derrick Coleman is the first legally deaf athlete to play offense in the NFL. Between his emotional Duracell commercial and the team’s collective success, Coleman has been given the platform to be seen.

His triumphs in the face of adversity have made Coleman an inspiration to some in the deaf community. On Tuesday he received a letter, via Twitter, from one young fan who shares the same ailment.

The following day Coleman responded with a note of his own.
