Detroit Lions send 2014 NFL playoff tickets to fans in mail

, , ,

Well this is awkward. The Detroit Lions lost to the New York Giants in overtime on Sunday, eliminating the team from the 2014 postseason. Apparently, the Lions didn’t plan out the timing for the mailing of playoffs tickets, because on Monday, fans began receiving them in the mail.

One fan tweeted a picture of the set he received to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

After a 6-3 start to the season, the Lions suffered a big collapse, losing five of their next six games. The team’s record currently sits at 7-8 with one meaningless game left against the Minnesota Vikings.

Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions against the Giants. After fans started to boo the team, Stafford’s girlfriend, Kelly Hall, took to the defense on Twitter, which was probably not the best idea. Head coach Jim Schwartz also appeared to yell at the fans, even though he claims to not have afterwards.
