Wayward defensive lineman D.J. Pettway has rejoined the Alabama Crimson Tide. Pettway spent the past year at East Mississippi Community College after getting kicked off the Tide in late February.
Along with three other players, Pettway’s dismissal was the result of two robberies on campus. The player assaulted two students and stole a laptop and credit cards. Pettway was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and tried as a youthful offender, which led to his records being sealed.
On Wednesday, Pettway posted the below picture to Instagram with the following caption: “57 back, signed with Bama again today. nothing but God.”
Pettway recorded four tackles for a loss during the 2012 season, as well as a sack in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game against Notre Dame.
