The offseason can be absolutely fantastic for most NFL players. These hulking millionaires get to rest their achy, broken bodies on pool chairs and yachts in faraway places, or treat their families to nice dinners at home.

Unfortunately, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees tried to do exactly that – but when he only left a three dollar tip on a $77 bill, the sports world blew up.

After all, Brees is making $20 million a year, we’re pretty sure he could afford the extra 10 bucks.

But the infamous bill (signed by Brees himself and seen here) was misleading right from the start, and now Brees has taken to Twitter to clear the air.

He was paying for a take-out order.

We can all can a deep breath and exhale now. Brees is still a fan favorite and a good tipper.

In all honesty, he’s probably an elite tipper. How many people actually tack on a few extra bucks to a take-out order at all?
