Most NBA superstars are busy spending millions on new swimming pools, fast cars and transatlantic vacations. According to Basketball Reference, Miami Heat baller and future Hall of Famer (we can probably safely say that now that he has earned his third ring) Dwayne Wade has earned roughly $102 million in his 10-year career.

That’s a fat stack of bills, but a full one-tenth of it has been dumped into an incredibly messy and increasingly open-ended divorce case.

Wade and former high school sweetheart Siohvaughn Funches began their divorce proceedings a full six years ago (Van Wilder could have practically graduated from college in that amount of time).

What’s even more wild, Gossip Extra has learned from one of Wade’s lawyers in the case that the Heat star has accrued roughly $10 million in legal bills during that time. He is paying for both his and Funches’ respective legal teams. His side has already reached a $5 million settlement for his soon-to-be ex-wife, but the main sticking point continues to be custodial rights over their two children, Zion and Zaire.

Funches recently broke down in the middle of Chicago, claiming that Wade had left her completely homeless. From there, Wade strove for full custody over the kids.

That’s where we stand at the moment, except for one more scary factor:

“My gut feeling is that he doesn’t even know how much he’s paying (in legal bills),” the Gossip Extra source added.

Wade’s going to have to start doing more Gatorade and Nike commercials if this continues to drag on indefinitely.
