Ready for this week’s sign of the apocalypse? We thought so: The one and only Dwight Howard will be featured in an animated movie.

His role? Voicing the character of Cold Turkey in a movie about time-traveling turkeys — seriously.

We could not make this stuff up if we tried, so, well, we’re not even going to try. Here’s the synopsis of Free Birds, courtesy of IMDb:

Two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the holiday menu for good.

Is it bad that we actually really want to see this movie, as just plain awful as it sounds?

Along with Howard’s voice, the movie features several of the usual suspects. Owen Wilson stars as the voice of Reggie, alongside Woody Harrelson (Jake) and Amy Poehler (Jenny). Of course, what would a time-traveling turkey movie be without former Star Trek legend George Takei, who provides the voice for S.T.E.V.E.

The movie is scheduled for a November 1, 2013 release, just in time to make us all feel a minute’s worth of guilt before dominating turkey and gravy on Thanksgiving.

If you just can’t wait, IMDb also features two, first-look photos of these fine-feathered friends:
