On Friday, defending FCS national champions North Dakota State upended Kansas State in what the college football world thought just had to be the most shocking upset of Week 1.
However, there was still a full Saturday of games remaining, and Eastern Washington was headed to Oregon State. Ranked No. 25 in the nation, the Beavers had unveiled their newly re-branded uniforms and logos but wound up going down hard at the hands of the FCS-level Eagles.
Most upsets of this nature happen after the big-time team fails to get its offense going. However, that was not the case, as the final score read 49-46.
Just to put this massive upset into perspective, it’s the first time an FCS team has beaten a ranked FBS team since 2010.
