The ESPN College GameDay crew is headed to Los Angeles to broadcast from the USC Trojans’ huge home game against the Stanford Cardinal.
What a difference a month can make in the wild world of college football. On October 10, Ed Orgeron made his debut as the interim coach at USC. The Trojans had recently canned the embattled Lane Kiffin, and the program was more or less a laughingstock.
Since then, all Orgeron has done is win games. The Trojans most recently throttled lowly Cal, 62-28, and now stand at 4-1 (7-3 overall) since Orgeron took over.
The program is showing signs of life, but Stanford is on top of the world. The Cardinal took down mighty Oregon on national television, 26-20, and is widely regarded as the best one-loss team in the country.
There will be plenty of story lines and a lot to watch come game day. Needless to say, the broadcast crew is excited to be making the trip to La La Land.
Going back to Cali…Cali…Cali…for the Stanford/USC game next week. @CollegeGameDay
