ESPN’s Early Top 25 College Basketball Rankings For 2014-15

The confetti has barely been swept up from UConn’s improbable run to the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, but here we are looking forward to next season. No rest for the weary, right? ESPN has released it’s “Way-Too-Early Top 25 for 2014-15,” and it has a few givens, as well as a few head-scratchers – basically everything you would expect out of a top 25 list published on April 7.

Top billing goes to Arizona, under the assumption that it will still be formidable regardless of Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson’s NBA decisions. Duke comes in ranked second, and is one of three ACC teams in the top 10 – UNC (6) and Virginia (7) being the others. Rounding out the top three is 2014 national runner-up Kentucky. Assuming John Calipari doesn’t go to the NBA like the probable majority of his blue-chippers, ESPN expects the ‘Cats to reload.

ESPN doesn’t feel that losing four seniors will impact Wichita State too much, and has the shockers ranked fifth. Conversely, a UConn team that is by all accounts stacked barely cracks the top 10. if you want to see Uconn next year, check out Easy Seat for Uconn Huskies tickets.
