On Sunday, Ole Miss learned it would be losing a member of its superstar stable of true freshmen for the remainder of the 2013 season. According to the Associated Press, 6-foot-3, 217-pound tight end Evan Engram will have season-ending surgery on his left ankle.
He suffered the injury during the Rebels’ 27-24 upset win over then-No. 6 LSU. He caught two passes for 28 yards before going down with what the program staff believed was merely a high ankle sprain.
Despite the unfortunate news, Engram himself took to Twitter to show the college football world that he remains in good spirits.
Everything happens for a reason. Minor setback that will make me stronger than ever! Thank you for all the prayers! Hotty Toddy

Engram recorded 20 catches for 265 yards and three touchdowns on the year.
