According to Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly, former Fighting Irish quarterback Everett Golson has reapplied to the university.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Kelly confirmed the news during his weekly press conference.
“That application process has been submitted from what I know of. And decisions relative to admissions happen in middle of December.”
Should he be granted admission back into Notre Dame, he will be able to start practicing again with the team. A decision on his readmission will reportedly take place in mid-December.
Golson was suspended from the team and university last May for allegedly cheating. In an interview this fall, he told Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples that he had used “poor judgement.”
Tommy Rees has taken over in Golson’s absence, leading the Irish to a 7-3 record through 10 games.
