Suspended Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson will be readmitted to the university, according to a report from ESPN.com. The tentative date, according to Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly, is Dec. 13.
Golson was placed on academic suspension from Notre Dame for allegedly cheating on a test. In an October interview with Sports Illustrated, Golson cited his poor judgement as the reason for the disciplinary actions.
Interestingly, upon reinstatement, Golson will not be permitted to engage in bowl practices with the team, nor will he travel to Notre Dame’s bowl game. The news is contradictory to statements made by Kelly in November. The head coach originally stated that Golson would practice with the Irish after reinstatement.
