Talk about party-poopers. We purposely put “Fans” in quotations in the title because we really can’t consider these folks fans.
During Sunday’s highly-anticipated NFC West showdown between Seattle and San Francisco, Seahawks fans proved why they are some of the best in all of sports. We don’t have any concrete evidence that setting the Guiness world record for loudest crowd at a sporting event helped their team win, but it certainly could not have hurt in handing the Niners a 29-3 loss.
Two residents of Point Reyes Station, California, Judy Spelman and Richard Schiller were not impressed, however, with the home-field advantage the 12th Man provided at CenturyLink Field.
The two penned one of the most pathetic (as a website dedicated to fans and “the game outside the game,” we’re going with “pathetic,” but “mind-blowingly awful” and plenty of curse words fit just as well) letters we have ever seen complaining about the game. What’s more, their “solution” to the “crowd noise problem” is just terrible. No thought was given to the punishment. No home games for the rest of the season because of crowd noise?
Granted, this could very well be one of the greatest troll jobs in the history of history, but we’re choosing to believe Spelman and Schiller – who live roughly an hour away from San Francisco, mind you – wrote this in all seriousness.
And for the laughs we’re having at your expense, we thank you.
