Florida and FSU rivalry contract extension through 2018 announced

Although it’s not as old as some of the more legendary rivalries in college football, the sport as a whole is better with the Florida-FSU series around. Luckily, the two schools will play through at least the 2018 season. On Thursday, Florida announced the contract extension.

The current record stands at 34-22-2 in the Gators’ favor, however, the Seminoles won this past year on their way to the school’s third national championship – tying the programs at three apiece.

The two teams have turned out some of the most memorable moments in history, such as the “Choke at Doak,” 1997 Sugar Bowl rematch for the title, and the “Swindle in the Swamp.”
