Florida Gators Gymnastics Add To UF National Championship Total

Easter Weekend proved extra sweet for the Florida Gators. For the second consecutive year, UF’s gymnastics team won the national championship. The Gators tied the Oklahoma Sooners with a mark of 198.175, which is the first title tie in the history of the NCAA event, according to GatorZone.com.

A total of six schools have won national championships in gymnastics: Florida, Alabama, Georgia, UCLA, Utah and Oklahoma.

The title for Florida gives the university 32 national championships throughout the program’s illustrious history. For Gators out there looking for a championship comparison, in-state rival FSU owns 12 total titles.
