Florida Gators hire Special Teams Coordinator and Director of Player Personnel

Will Muschamp is wasting little time filling the Florida Gators’ coaching vacancies. On Friday, Muschamp announced the hirings of a new Special Teams’ Coordinator and Director of Player Personnel.

Coleman Hutzler will be Florida’s new Special Teams’ Coordinator, leaving behind the New Mexico Lobos after two seasons. With the Lobos, Hutzler coached both special teams and outside linebackers. Prior to his stint at New Mexico, Hutzler was a defensive and special teams assistant with the Gators. He fills the vacancy left by Jeff Choate.

Drew Hughes will be the team’s new Director of Player Personnel. He leaves the same position with the N.C. State Wolfpack to join the Gators. Prior to his tenure with N.C. State, Hughes was the Director of Player Personnel for UCF. His name may ring familiar with fans because the following memorable recruiting letter.
