Florida Gators Land Marcus Lewis For 2015 Recruiting Class

The Florida Gators received big news on Thursday with the commitment of 4-star cornerback Marcus Lewis.

The 6’1, 187-pound prospect joins what has become a defensive back pipeline out of the Washington, D.C. corridor. Florida picked up Jalen Tabor in the 2014 recruiting cycle, and one of the best DBs in program history, Joe Haden, came from the same neck of the woods a few years prior.

Lewis is rated as the No. 8 cornerback and No. 76 overall player by Rivals; 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 12 athlete and No. 116 overall player.

Not only is he a big-time pickup for Will Muschamp, but his commitment could very well be the start of a massive recruiting haul. The Gators are currently projected to land five of the top 40 recruits, four of which are rated 5-stars and in the top 17.

While the commitment is not etched in stone, from the looks of his Twitter account, Lewis is orange and blue through and through.

Following is a highlight reel from Lewis’ junior season.
