Radio call of final Florida State touchdown in the BCS Championship

During the waning moments of the 2014 BCS National Championship Game, video was rolling in the Florida State radio booth. As fate would have it, the footage captured what will surely become an iconic call by FSU broadcaster, and voice of the Seminoles, Gene Deckerhoff.

The clip picks up with Deckerhoff preparing to call Florida State’s final score. As Jameis Winston uncorks the pass to Kelvin Benjamin, the announcer explodes with joy, pausing only momentarily to ensure that the referees ruled the catch a touchdown. Then, as the entire radio booth jumps in celebration, Deckerhoff remains seated shepherding his listeners through the moment.
