Florida Today owns UCF newspaper headline fail on Twitter

In a rush to print Thursday’s edition of the paper, editors at Florida Today let a big headline fail pass right by them. The front page of the sports section was devoted to UCF after the Knights’ monumental Fiesta Bowl victory over Baylor. The main article’s headline read, “HEAR TO STAY?” The word “hear” should have been “here.”

Just like in any industry, mistakes happen in publishing. There is bound to be a grammar slip-up for anyone who reads lines upon lines of text everyday. The kicker is how you approach a mistake once it has happened. Florida Today didn’t shy away, instead owning it on Twitter.

That, folks, is how you get it done. The paper also followed it up with the corrected final copy of Thursday’s paper.

Florida Today has officially won over our team at Gamedayr. Job well done to whomever works their social media.
