Report: FSU fan threatens, tries to attack people with machete at Gainesville bar

Despite the Gators’ anemic year on the gridiron, there was more than enough hostility to go around during the Florida-Florida State game this past Saturday in Gainesville. According to the Gainesville Sun, one FSU fan even threatened individuals with a machete at a Gainesville bar.

Brant W. Brown, 37, had reportedly been drinking when an altercation inside of EndZone Bar and Grill – located just to the east of campus – led to him threatening individuals outside of the bar with a machete.

Brown threatened and tried to attack the manager, as well as the lady he initially attempted to help inside of the bar. He then fled behind the bars in his truck.

He wouldn’t get very far, however, stopping a few doors down behind Mother’s Pub & Grill where he was corralled by an off-duty Pembroke Pines police officer.

The officer kept Brown at bay until Gainesville Police arrived.

The Gainesville Sun’s report indicates that Brown is facing charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

I am sure he was just standing his ground, not Zimmerman style but rather Seminole style, against all those routy gators. Do you think he will get off?
