Stat of the Day: Florida State is first team to hold opposing QB to a zero passer rating

With Oregon’s loss to Stanford on Thursday, Florida State had a great opportunity to tighten its grasp on the No. 2 ranking in the BCS Standings. The Seminoles seized that chance on Saturday, with a 59-3 pasting of ACC foe Wake Forest.

However, this was no run-of-the-mill beating. No, this was dominance. FSU’s defense suffocated the Demon Deacons.

Freshman Tyler Cameron completed five of his 19 passing attempts for 63 yards and three interceptions. Senior Tanner Price was 1-of-4 passing, with three yards and three interceptions. Finally, junior Patrick Thompson finished 1-of-2 for negative-three yards.

FSU had six interceptions to Wake’s seven total completions. Those numbers are good for a 0.0 quarterback rating – a defensive feat no other program in the nation has accomplished this year.
