According to the Associated Press, Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has suspended two defensive starters for one game. Both linebacker Christian Jones and defensive tackle Eddie Goldman will be forced to miss the Seminoles’ Saturday game against Bethune-Cookman following a violation of team rules.

After two games, the 6-foot-4, 234-pound senior Jones stands at second on the team with 13 total tackles. He recorded a whopping 95 total (48 solo) as a junior in 2012.

Goldman is a 6-foot-4, 303-pound force that only earned the starting nod this season as a sophomore.

Sophomore Terrence Smith will be replacing Jones, while senior DeMonte McAllister will start along the defensive line in the place Goldman.

The move is definitely tough, as losing two starters is never a coach’s prerogative. However, FSU travels to Boston College for an in-conference game the week after Bethune-Cookman. If both Jones and Goldman get out of Fisher’s doghouse and into that game, everything should be fine.
