On Friday, Gary Kubiak was unceremoniously fired as the Houston Texans’ head coach. Kubiak was let go just a day after the Texans’ 27-20 Thursday night loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In order to show the city, team and fans just how honored he was to coach the Texans, Kubiak placed an ad in Sunday’s Houston Chronicle newspaper.

Kubiak was in his eighth year with the Texans. He coached the team to a 61–64 record and two playoff appearances (2-2).

Wade Phillips has taken over as interim head coach in Kubiak’s absence.
