As the SEC regular season concludes, so do the jobs of Joker Philips, Derek Dooley, Gene Chizik, and John L. Smith. Now their are sources out of Columbia that say Gary Pinkel will resign on Monday. Talk about turnover in the almighty SEC; this would be the fifth coaching vacancy so far this year.
The transition from the BIG XII to the SEC was anything but smooth for the Missouri (5-7, 2-6 SEC) football team. The Tigers learned very quickly how fast top notch SEC defenses really are. The team also dealt with injuries to top players, such as star quarterback James Franklin.
As of this moment, Pinkel is still the head coach of Mizzou, but all signs are pointing to a potential change in the very near future.
