Are Florida fans doing the Gator Chomp with FSU’s championship trophy?

The Coaches’ Trophy made its way to a Tallahassee Winn Dixie on Friday, giving fans a chance to pose for pictures with it. One photo in particular caught our attention, and we’re still trying to figure out what is going on.

Two girls rocking Florida State face paint broke out the “Gator Chomp” for their picture. Was this an attempt by FSU fans to troll the rival Gators, or a couple of closet Florida fans trolling the Seminoles?

The photo was taken by Mike Ewen and posted to, with the following caption:

Closet Gator fans do the Gator Chop during their photo session with the National Championship Trophy on Friday. A hushed chorus of boos accompanied the two during their chop. Hundreds of Seminole fans lined up outside the Winn Dixie Store on Magnolia Drive to have an opportunity to see and get a free photo taken with the National Championship Coaches’ Trophy. The Waterford Crystal ball is valued at $30,000 and this trophy was the 28th such trophy awarded to the National Championship football team. The trophy will be on display on Saturday at the Walmart Store at 4400 West Tennessee Street.

Mind blown.

I would say they are rubbing it in to the Gators.
