Gators suspend Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris

On Thursday, Florida Gators head coach Billy Donovan announced that forward Dorian Finney-Smith and forward/center Damontre Harris have been suspended indefinitely. The two join guard Scottie Wilbekin, who will also miss significant time early in the season after being suspended in April.

Finney-Smith and Harris violated team rules, yet Donovan would not disclose the extent of the players’ transgressions.

No. 10 Florida will open up the 2013 season extremely thin. It was recently announced that versatile guard Michael Frazier II is sick with mononucleosis. Will Yeguete and Eli Carter are recovering from injuries, as well.

The Gators kick the season off against Florida Southern in an exhibition on Nov. 1, followed by the first regular season game against North Florida on Nov. 8. Both of those games are manageable even with the thin lineup. However, the third game, on the road at Wisconsin, will be much more difficult to navigate without a full roster.
