The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs were set to face off in a decisive Game 7 following an already thrilling playoff series.

After going down 2-1 in front of the home crowd, it looked like the Bruins were going to attempt to give their fans an epic finale with only 20 minutes remaining

But then the first few moments of the third period happened — and the Leafs had scored two goals to seemingly put the game away.

And that’s when the real fun started in Beantown. First Nathan Horton and then Milan Lucic scored goals to bring the score far closer, and then Patrice Bergeron decided to become a postseason legend.

With only a few minutes remaining, Bergeron buried the Bruins’ fourth goal of the game to give fans the absolutely only ending it deserved: Overtime.

Once again, Bergeron lit the lamp, hitting the game-winning and series-ending goal at the 6:05-mark of the first overtime. The goal sent Toronto home for the year and sent Boston into a frenzy.
