The Michigan Wolverines lost badly to hated in-state rival Michigan State in East Lansing on Saturday, 29-6. We’re not sure if any singular play can encapsulate quite how badly the Wolverines performed against that stout Spartans “D,” but this certainly comes close.
On first down near midfield, Michigan looked primed to march towards, at worst, a game-tying field goal, if not a touchdown. However, that’s when the soggy field finally got to the Wolverines’ center. He sails the ball well over the head of quarterback Devin Gardner for a massive loss.
Gardner and Co. would only manage to eke out another three points the rest of the way.
