Vernon Davis hauled in a spectacular 52-yard touchdown pass against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Following the catch, the 6’3, 250 pound tight end had some difficulty slowing his momentum as he ran out the back of the end zone. Davis met the wall, and then promptly collapsed to the ground.
The touchdown catch was Davis’ 12th of the season, making him the first tight end in history to record multiple seasons with at least 12 touchdown receptions. He also became the first 49ers player to catch a touchdown in five straight games since Terrell Owens in 2001.
