Hunter Mahan Wins The Barclays, Moves to No. 1 In FedEx Cup Standings

Hunter Mahan arrived at Ridgewood Country Club to start the FedEx Cup playoff ranked at number 62 in the standings.

He is leaving Ridgewood Country Club as the winner of The Barclays and number one in FedEx Cup standings.

Nice litte weekend, no?

Mahan had five back-nine birdies on Sunday to nail down his victory and give him the 2,500 points to start the FedEx Cup playoff. Those points were added to his season total points of 776 to give him a leading 3,276 points which was enough to push him past seemingly unstoppable Rory McIlroy in the standings. McIlroy finished 22nd at Ridgewood and slipped to number two.

The next tournament will be the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston August 29 to September 1. Following the Deutsche Bank Championship will be the BMW Championship (Sept. 4-7, Cherry Hills G.C.) and then finally the TOUR Championship (Sept. 11-14, East Lake G.C.).

The TOUR Championship winner will receive the FedEx Cup and a $10 million bonus.
