Golfers and fans are no strangers to shots that end up in unexpected places. But a group of fans at the hospitality suite at The Barclays golf tournament in Paramus, NJ were treated yesterday to an up close and personal view of one of golf’s biggest names, Phil Mickelson.
Mickelson was on the par-4 5th hole during the second round of the tournament when when his shot went wide left and into the grandstands area. When it was finally found on the AstroTurf patio deck, Mickelson decided to play it from that spot, for all eyes to see.
Unfortunately, the hospitality shot only made for good cell phone footage as Mickelson ended up bogeying the hole. But at least a few fans offered him a beer to deal with the rough hole, to which he, unfortunately, couldn’t partake.
