Can Tiger Woods Win The British Open?

Tiger Woods enters the 2014 British Open having not won a major since 2008 (when he beat Rocco Mediate at Torrey Pines in spectacular fashion). This year’s Open Championship is at Royal Liverpool for the first time since 2006, when it was won by Woods. It was his first major since the death of his father. At the time, he seemed to be well on his way to surpassing Jack Nicklaus’ 18 major championships.

Fast forward eight years and an aged Tiger enters the event off yet another injury. Can Tiger rekindle his magic and stay ahead of the Golden Bear’s Pace? FOX Sports breaks down his chances here.

Should Woods not win the British Open, he will be behind Nicklaus’ pace for the first time since winning two majors at age 24. Below is a wonderful look at the trajectory of both golfers, courtesy of CBS Sports.
